Frank Arrigazzi has been teaching yoga since age 22 (professionally) and started practicing at the age of 8 when he was introduced to it by his father for the first time. Through the years he has developed a combination of “asthanga yoga, hatha yoga and Iyengar techniques” he has also used some of his inner understanding to create new exercises to release body tensions. Using diffferent techniques he helps people to reconnect with their breathing (letting go of past emotions and becoming more present) and also to bring awarness to their posture,(using Alexandre Technique guidelines for the posture).Frank has also studied from a very early age about different nutrition lifestyles and has a depth of understanding on how some of these approaches can work in our body – macrobiotic, veganism, vegetarianism, raw food, living foods etc., His main focus and passion is on ancient healing traditions and in the ways these cultures used to reconnect “mind, body, spirit, enviroment” and “make all one with everything”. Today Frank writes periodically some articles for blogs and magazines (Get Fresh, The Nutri Centre magazine) and is also writing a book about ancient secrets to longevity.
Frank can be messaged on to ask any questions with regards to our classes and you can check about his business Purple Balance Superfoods & yoga here:

Your venue:
Sanillés is an Eco-Living project in an ideal setting in the Spanish Pyrenees, boasting a Mediterranean climate averaging 300 days of sunshine per year. At an altitude of 3500 feet summer is never too hot and winter provides plenty of skiing. Just 2 hours from Barcelona and on the doorstep of Andorra and the French border, Sanillé’s is ideally situated, enjoying Mediterranean sunshine and clean mountain air. The wooded park and sheltered terraces face south with magnificent views across the valley to the snow-clad Sierra mountain range. Sanillés has a neo-Georgian main building that was a hotel and park that extends to 35 acres of mostly wooded land with a mountain river, thermal springs and a bore-hole yielding 12,000 litres/hour of “minero-medicinal” thermal water with the thermal fed, non chlorine swimming pool temperature at 90F year round. Well developed organic vegetable gardens and 66 solar panels with huge hot water storage tanks for underfloor heating and domestic hot water service the retreat.

Thermal water is known to have been used at Sanilles since Roman times and may account for the origin of the name “Sanillés” which surely derives from the same root as “sano” meaning healthy, and Lles which is the parish in which the property is located. The thermal waters surface as four related springs with slight variations in temperature and composition of water: Païdor (30ºC), Fon del Riu (28ºC), de la Muntanya (24ºC) all with alkaline and silica rich waters and de Ferro which is rich in iron.

The classification as “minero-medicinal” water – which was first established in 1877 and re-confirmed in 1928 within 50 metres of the original springs. The now vastly increased quantity of thermal water means that Sanillés can now be classified as an official “Balneario” or Thermal Spa with a whole range of water related health care treatments.

The high level of silica in the Sanillés thermal water gives especially beneficial effects for improving hair condition and helping with skin complaints. As drinking water the light mineral content assists digestion and renal function.

Rooms are either twin bedded or doubles on a shared basis~Either bring a friend, partner or you will be matched up with another of same sex. Please enquire if a private single room is required at additional cost.

All in all it is a cosy mountain retreat, with skiing nearby and the added luxury of its own private thermal springs. Daily schedules will be weather dependant, and those who do not wish to ski daily can relax at the retreat and in the pools. What a treat!

The skiing is at a resort 20 minutes drive from the retreat called Masella and has 72 kilometres of ski runs, 9 Green runs, 23 Blue, 22 Red and 8 Black, making it suitable for all levels of skier. Out host Hugh from the retreat will be guiding our group ski for those at intermediate level. If you are a beginner it is advised to take private lessons (at additional cost), or if you are advanced you may like to head off on your own. All rates for ski passes, ski/boot hire, lessons etc are available click here.

The 6 nights/7 days all inclusive is priced at £895 pp based on 2 sharing.
